Introduction

The computer game and interactive entertainment industry has grown to become a multi-billion industry pushing the limits of current computer technology on multiple fronts in a relatively brief period.

The aim of the Workshop on Interactive Entertainment is to bring together academic and industry researchers, developers, designers and practitioners to discuss research and development issues in interactive entertainment and computer games. In particular the conference wishes to investigate the design and engineering of mass market interactive entertainment.

Andrew Gordon, The Institute for Creative Technologies, University of Southern California

Chris Crawford, one of world's most famous game designers, author of "The Art of Computer Game Design"

Topics of interest

The papers should include original and unpublished contributions, related to interactive entertainment and computer games .Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

Submission procedure

  1. Regular papers: send original papers in 2 column format, at most 8 pages, for oral or poster presentation (the full papers will be reviewed and the accepted papers will be published);
  2. Posters: send an extended abstract, at most 4 pages, for consideration of poster presentation only. A selection of posters will be included in the proceedings.

  • Upload your submission via the submission page.
  • If you have a system that you would like to demo, please indicate this in your submission. If there are enough people with systems to demo, a demo time will be set aside.
  • Please indicate on the submission form whether you would like yoour paper to be considered for the Best Student Paper Award. Only papers where the first author is a student are elligible for the award.

Workshop Program

One of the goals of the workshop is to create  a lively setting for group discussion.  The workshop will include a mixture of talks, posters, panels, breakout sessions and demos. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
